How to Register

Start Your Registration

Click “Start Your Registration” and fill out a short form so we can send you updates, schedules, and important event information.

Ensure You Have a Taekwondo Ontario Membership

All competitors must have an active Taekwondo Ontario Membership (TOM) before completing the official registration.

Complete the Official Event Registration

After submitting the form, continue to the Taekwondo Ontario website to complete your athlete’s event entry.

Important Note:

Athletes may be registered either by their club or individually through Taekwondo Ontario. Please check with your club to know which method applies to you.

Events & Divisions

Events

  • Poomsae (Patterns) – individual patterns

  • Kyorugi (Sparring) – controlled, development-focused sparring

Competitors may enter Poomsae, Kyorugi, or both.

Requirements

  • Valid Taekwondo Ontario Membership (TOM)

  • WT-approved white dobok

  • Full WT-approved protective gear for Kyorugi

Divisions

Divisions are set by age (6 & under to 40+) and belt level (Colour & Black Belts).

Spectator Tickets

Friends and family are encouraged to attend and support our competitors! The tournament is open to spectators with advance ticket purchase or at the door.

+ HST

All spectators aged 7 and up require a ticket for entry. Children 6 and under enter free.

Re-entry is allowed with your wristband or stamp.

Is the Niagara Open open to all clubs?

Yes. It is a recreational development tournament for Taekwondo Ontario member clubs and invited dojangs.

Does my child need a Taekwondo Ontario Membership (TOM)?

Yes. All competitors need a valid TOM membership for insurance and sanctioning. New memberships can be purchased at: https://members.taekwondo-ontario.com/membership/register/individual

How do we complete the official tournament entry?

After you register on this page, your club will either register you through the TO event portal or send a club roster on your behalf. Follow your instructor’s directions.

Can parents register directly on the TO portal?

Some clubs allow this. Log in at https://members.taekwondo-ontario.com/membership/login/ and look for “Niagara Open Taekwondo Championship 2026” under Events.

How do spectators buy tickets?

Spectator tickets are $10 + HST for ages 7 and up. Children 6 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online in advance at our spectator ticket page (link above in the Spectator Tickets section) or at the door while supplies last.

Can spectators leave and come back?

Yes. Re-entry is allowed with your wristband or hand stamp.
